Classification
Coated sand is a type of sand covered with a resin film on the surface of sand grains, usually used in foundry production. It is characterized by high strength, high fire resistance and good air permeability.
Color and Sizes
1. Color: The color of cladding sand is usually brown or black, depending on the type of resin used and pigments added.
2. Size:The specification size of coated sand is usually selected according to the casting process and casting requirements, and the common particle size range is 0.1-1mm.
Product Properties:
(1) HIGH STRENGTH: The cladding sand forms a hard shell shape when heated, which has high strength and can withstand the pressure of liquid metal.
(2) High refractoriness: resin film has good refractoriness, which can keep stable under high temperature and prevent castings from sticking sand.
(3) Good air permeability: the air permeability of coated sand is good, which is conducive to the discharge of gas and reduce the casting porosity defects.
(4) Good collapsibility: after the casting is cooled down, the shell shape of coated sand is easy to collapse and easy to clean.
Product Features:
(1) Improve the quality of castings: coated sand can produce castings with precise size and smooth surface.
(2) Improve the production environment: the use of coated sand can reduce the emission of dust and exhaust gas, improve the working environment of the foundry.
(3) Reduce production costs: the reusability of coated sand is good, which can reduce the consumption of raw materials and production costs.
Application
(1) automobile manufacturing: for the production of engine block, cylinder head, crankshaft and other castings.
(2) machinery manufacturing: for the production of machine tool beds, gear boxes and other castings.
(3) Aerospace: for the production of aircraft engine blades, turbine disks and other castings.
(4) Other fields: can also be used to produce pipes, valves, fittings and other castings.
Storage and Packaging
Laminated sand should be stored in a dry, ventilated place, avoiding moisture and direct sunlight.
Packaging is usually in plastic bags or paper bags to prevent the cladding sand from moisture and contamination.
